Hi everyone,

I am preparing for EE application and trying to define my NOC. About me: I have been working for over 3 years in public policy advocacy & international trade policies. My understanding is that public policy & international trade policies are both economic policy -> I should be under NOC 4162 - Economists and economic policy researchers and analysts. However as I read the description, this NOC involves "conduct research, monitor data, analyze information and prepare reports and plans to resolve economic and business problems and develop models to analyze, explain and forecast economic behaviour and patterns", while I mainly conduct researches (in my previous job as a public policy analyst) and do international trade negotiation/international commitments implementation (in my current job as a government official).

Is this job more toward data-driven researches? If that's the case, would my NOC match 4168 - Program officers unique to government (primarily concerned with the administration and operation of government institutions, such as Parliament, and activities unique to the operations of government, such as international relations, federal-provincial affairs, elections and tribunals? But then my previous job (public policy analyst) which involves active engagement with the goverment and is unique to government but externally - would it match the NOC?

Thank you!
