Hello All,

I need your suggestion and below is my situation -

I am doing my masters final semester and which I am going to be complete by August-2017, and my study permit will ends by November 30 2017. After my studies in September 2017, I will apply for Post Graduate work permit and which definitely I will get for 3 years.

My spouse is already in Canada on Open work permit (dependent on my status) which she landed on Jan 19 2017 and she got full time job in her relevant field in April 2017. But her work permit valid only till November 30 2017 (where my study permit end's).

After my completion of my studies did my wife will also get 3 years open work permit extension along with my post graduate work permit? If yes , then we are in safe zone, she can continue her job to complete 1 year, through that we can apply for PR.
If no, she have to leave her job and need to apply for visiting before her status ends?

I came to hear that she will not get 3 years extension until if I get a job after my studies,Is it true? If yes, then after my studies in a month I need to get a job which is most difficult in Canada.

I am asking all these because, she loves her job what she is currently doing, and I don't want to loose her job because of me.

Please suggest us , what best that we can do to plan for our future

Hi

In order for your spouse to qualify for an OWP based on your PGWP, you must have a NOC A, B or 0 job and provide 3 payslips.

Hello All,

Yes - this is true. You need to have a full time job that NOC A, B or 0 before she can apply to extend her work permit. If you don't have a job when her work permit is expiring, she will need to apply to change her status to visitor and stop working while you look for a job.
