I need some help in choosing the duration of my studies in order to get PR after graduation.

I have two admissions from two universities, both located in Ontario.

University X:
Duration of Program is 24 months
I dont have funding
Therefore the tuition fee for two years is really high and I will have two very difficult years in terms of financial matters

University Y:
Duration of Program is 16 months
It is MSc, so I have a supervisor and the supervisor might provide me with some funding
Even if the supervisor does not give me funds, the tuition fees will be cheaper because it is 8 months less in duration.

Both the programs are very similar in terms of fields, so I am interested in both.

I would clearly prefer to study in a 24-months program, because I can get 3 years work permit after that. But as you know, financial matters are very important too.

But my main question is that, with Graduation degree in Master level, how much difference does it really make if I get 3 years work permit or 16-months work permit? I am talking in terms of Permanent Residency.

Is it really very important to have 3 years temporary work permit, or can I be hopeful that with 16 months temporary work permit I can almost easily get my PR too?

I will be really glad to hear your opinions.
