Hi Pranav30,

Its great that you are researching your course to align with the Visa requirements. You are ahead of many people in this forum in this aspect. I myself for example, chose my course first and then found out all the stuff about course to background alignment for Visa acceptance.

Looking at your profile, I see that you have been working in Sales for the last 4 years. If you are still interested in the profession, I would suggest that you try for a masters course or at least a PgDip (Post graduate diploma) in marketing. This way, your chosen course will be relevant to your background.

I am not sure which region/city you are from, but If a masters or postgraduate degree/diploma in marketing helps you with your career, then It should be quite clear to you. Because it is very important for you to point out to the Visa Officer the reason why your chosen course will increase your calibre as a candidate in the job market. It would be a good idea for you to research in your company or other companies close by and find job adverts and opportunities that actually show that a masters or diploma in marketing will help your career.

On the other hand, you can change your course to finance or accounting or even Information management, but you will have to clearly prove that you intend to make a move from your current career to a different line and this course will help you.

So good luck with your search of degrees, let us know what you choose. I hope that you will be successful in your choice and Visa both!

thnx for your valuable feedback.

I already faces a rejection choosing financial planning so, this time i will go for the global business management(PG - 2 year) is it relevant?

Hey,

I did not know that you have already faced rejection once. If you have faced rejection once before, It would be a good idea for you to first share the detailed rejection reasons here. After that a good advice can be given.

Reason for refusal:
Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: Your qualifications, previous studies, missing marks cards, gap in studies employment, level of establishment, language abilities or your future prospects and plans.

Dear Pranav,

I will try to explain to you the reasons of refusal to the best of my knowledge and also let you know what the best course of action could be.

1. Your qualifications, previous studies, level of establishment, future prospects - Ok, so these four points in the line come under the same broad general category of misallignment of proposed studies to your background. Since your work history is in Sales, there is little reason for you to pursue a degree in financial planning. To top that off, I think you have applied through SPP before, and your statement of purpose (SOP) was not convincing enough for the Visa officer. You need to put up your case earnestly, and yes you need to think that, maybe you will not be able to stay in Canada later on, and if that happens, then how this degree will help you in your country. This is the most important factor.

You have said you want to apply for global business management which in my opinion has very weak relevance to your work, unless you are working in the sales function of a multinational company right now or your CV is strong enough for you to apply to such a function just after your degree. In that case, a pgDIP in my opinion is not sufficient, maybe a masters or MBA would be good for that.

For example, there is an MSc in Marketing at Concordia University, this degree seems quite relevant to your field. But then again you need to give a detailed CV if you want a better judgement.

2. Missing Marks Cards - Again, I am presuming that you applied through SPP as this route comes back with the most cases of mark cards (missing and thus rejected). So this time you need to make sure your mark cards are in place and in order. To make it more risk free, you need to make a cover sheet explaining which page is what. For that I would recommend you to apply on-line as often the VFS will not allow you to attach cover sheets with your documents.

3. Gap in studies - This is the same answer as above. Also in this case, you need to clarify in your letter of explanation why you had any gaps in your study, if you actually did. If you didn't have any gap in studies, then you should clarify this in your letter of explanation too.

4.Language Abilities - Finally, the CIC are kind enough to let you know that your IELTS marks are not high enough, maybe you got low marks in some of the bands which actually fail the threshold level for Canada. So you need to retake your IELTS. This should actually be your first priority anyway, as looking at your back results, you might need to prepare for a longer time this time.

I am not saying that the above advice is 100% accurate, but I hope that my point of view can help you in deciding for yourself what to do.

Hope this helps.

thanking u for your co-operation,

I would like to share that i do not have any study gaps.Secondly, I have been working with MNC company from the beginning of my career.
For university enrolment i need 12+4 but i did 12+3 so i must have to go with the PGD course only. I had attached all the mark sheets and degree certificates as well.

in Ielts i got 6.5 (L-7, R-6.5, W-5.5, S- 6.5

Further Global business management will help me to explore my abilities in to the international market, and there are many MNC companies in india who are looking for experienced candidates with higher qualification.

Please suggest me any PGD course and college as well.

Province selection will effect to my visa rejection/approval?

I don't think province selection matters much. However, I have heard that the CIC officers think that everyone wants to go to Toronto as there are more odd jobs and permanent jobs there. But its something that I have heard and cannot verify independently.

On the other hand, your IELTS score is something to look at, if you want a risk free strategy, first you need to get all your components to aleast a 6.5. I mean you can get a Visa with lower marks in IELTS, many have received it, but it is risky to apply with such low marks.

Also did you explain in your SOP that you NEED to do a pgdip because you have a 3 year degree? You need to state that clearly in your SOP.

Since you already know that there are many MNC's who might be interested, it is a good Idea for you to start collecting this job advert print outs or paper cuttings. I know many members would say that this is not needed, but remember, you have been refused once and this is your second application where you are trying to put a strong case forward.

Hope this helps.
