Need help figuring out what to do with school

I already have a valid study permit. I have been going to a school that kind of feels like a scam. I got excepted into another school for winter 2016. My question is instead of going to the school I hate next week , which in order to go I have to extend my permit for anyways, can I just not go to this program , and go to the other school in January 2016?

My study permit expires dec 31 2015
And was for the winter semester of 2015 so now my new classes begin next week and I really don't want to waste my money going there.
