It is the Notice of Assessment that they mail to you after you do your taxes. Oddly it does not say Option C anywhere on it.

what the hell do they call then?

No idea. Perhaps if you do not have the Notice of Assessment what you request from the CRA says Option C? Not sure though, I had my Notice of Assessment so did not need to worry.

But be sure to send the original and not a photocopy of it.

hi
you need to call them ( canada revenue ) and tell them to send you an Option c printout ( do not confuse with T4 or whatever) it is a MUST that you send it. your application will be sent back to you and delayed if you dont . it takes about two weeks to be delivered in the mail. its a good idea to postpone sending your application and wait two weeks than get it sent back to you .

Option C and your Notice of Assessment are not the same thing. The notice of assessment is automatically sent to you with your tax return, but you need to specifically request the Option C by calling Canada Revenue at 1 800 959-8281. There is no charge for this. The Option C will include info. on your income and taxes but includes additional information which is NOT on your NoA such as whether you've been on welfare.

My lawyer stated that is what was needed as the Option C, so that is what we sent. We got approved no problem obviously, so no idea then.
