It is technically short by a month. Also you need to have 1560 hours.

Thanks for your reply. So technically it's coming sort of 11 buisness working day. That also they won't consider ? So in that case should I not show that while creating express entry profile.

No. In order to claim 1 year be it Canadian Or federal experience u need to claim 52 weeks of experience.

Now if u r qualifying as a FSW candidate and U put this experience to add up your points then it depends on the discretion of officer. He may or may not put a waiver on this.

Hi..thanks for your reply. Yes I am going to apply as FSW candidate. So I am thinking to use it for my score. So just want to confirm if I can use to to increase it or not.

Like I said if u can secure ita however it’s at officer discretion to consider your experience equivalent to 1 year. The worst that could happen is ur application get denied if officer thinks that your experience should not be counted as 1 year but u won’t get banned for that. So it’s up to u.

I can share my friends example. He claimed 2 years Canadian experience but in actual he had only 100 weeks. When he made his profile he was awarded points for 2 years (104 weeks). Technically his application should be denied becuz he was short by 4 weeks and by removing 1 year of his Canadian experience his crs score would have fallen below the minimum cutoff of that draw. However, Cic put a waiver on him, becuz he had a masters degree from Canada and officer deemed him as a good contributor towards Canadian economy. Today he already completed one year of his stay in Canada.

How he knew about that waiver, his uncle was a friend of one of the officials in Canadian Embassy that’s how he came to know about that.

Anyways I m just telling u sometimes u get the waiver for few weeks shy of complete year. It all depends on your luck

I wish u all the best!!

Hi...thanks a lot for your detailed explanation. I have one doubt here. Can you please let me know how much time it will take for me to know if they are going to accept my application or not? Will it happen after I receive my ita and submitted all the documents or I will come to know once I submit my profile into the pool. It will help me understand the timeframe i require to come to conclusions quickly.
Thanks in advance

In the express entry profile, they only have the month field which will award you 1 year of experience and potentially give you an ITA. However in the actual PR application they have exact date field; so it is possible that at the PR application stage they will calculate it as less than 1 year and reject your application. But it may be at their discretion.

After ita they can’t know anything before u submit your eAPR

Thanks for ur reply. How long will it take to verify the eAPR from their end after I submit the documents? Based on that I can explore other options if I want to go for PNP rather than express entry if I get better success chances there?

Once u submit eAPR there are certain stages of verification. If they find any thing wrong they will contact u.
