I am a Canadian citizen and my husband will be deported to India from USA after being incarcerated for conspiracy charges. what is the likely hood that I can sponsor him to Canada as he is my husband.

please help.

Based on the information you've provided, he's inadmissible to Canada due to his crime. This means you cannot sponsor him at this time and he is not allowed to enter Canada for any reason (even as a visitor). Once five years have passed since he completed his sentence, he will qualify to apply for rehabilitation. If rehabilitation is approved, then you'll be able to sponsor him for PR.

To add, even after 5 years has passed there is no guarantee the Rehabilitation application would be successful. Depending on the details and how serious the "conspiracy" charge and conviction was, he may face a much longer ban or even possibly a lifetime ban.

At a minimum, you will need to engage the services of a highly qualified lawyer experienced with criminal inadmissibility issues.
