RCMP fingerprints take about 3 to 4 months to process in some cases, plus the additional time for your VO to look at it, so even if you haven't heard back from your VO, it doesn't mean that it's lost.

However, I understand that you want to go and visit your wife. You can try and prepare - not come with too much luggage, say that you're coming to visit your wife, have the proofs with you that you have applied for PR, and a return ticket. There is no guarantee that you will be let into the country, but you can try.

Good luck,
Sweden

Hello,
Just have a few questions, I am planning on filing the and of the year, as soon as I get my new passport after the name change. The thing is, if I get married this october, can I get my fingerprints done prior to that, say september? Wouldn't they look under my maiden name anyway? If I've only been married a month and we are staying with his parents for a while so there may not be any record of my married name except through the State depsrtment snd social security ( I'm US). The reason I ask is I want to start this process as soon as possible. I want to start my new life and be with my husband. As far as me being able to stay, can I bring my bank statements to show funds? As for as luggage I bring a small duffle bag.
