Hi guys,

I need some advice on work experience gained while working for my dad. Since I was a teenager, I have been working as an administrative assistant/ secretary for my dad. I helped with data entry, filing, distribution of memos and letters, typing correspondence, welcoming visitors, cleaning the office, ordering office supplies etc. I did this on a full time basis during school breaks and part time while in school. My dad gave me a stipend weekly(in cash) to cover feeding and transportation or whatever. I didnt request for it but it was kind of some compensation for helping out while I could as well be resting or having fun with my friends. Note that throughout this time, he never hired a secretary and people regarded me as his secretary, I only disclosed I was his child when someone was trying to be rude to me or treat me like dirt. My working hours varied from 8am to 7pm or sometimes from 9am to 12am. (Yes, we stayed in the office that late coz he sometimes brought up some tasks at the last minute and he kind of does things last minute). My issue is if I can claim this as work experience since there was no employment agreement between us. I have my dad's coworkers that can write a reference to attest to the fact that I was his secretary. I am trying to tread carefully as I want to avoid anything fraudulent. I will rather not include this than to be accused of fraud.

What do you guys think? will work experience gained while working for a parent be acceptable to gain express entry points?

If you were only given a cash stipend, I think it will be hard to argue and prove this was work experience.
