Need Advice in regards to US visa while on work permit

Hello Everyone,

I am hoping some one can give me an advice.

My company wants me to travel US to one of our branch for work purposes. I have applied for PR and waiting for the PPR(hopefully) and work permit is only valid for another 2 months.

My question is ,should I apply for US visa , is it safe.Since I only I have 2 month left on my WP ? As you guys know CIC is taking forever to process our case.

Not sure how should I proceed ?

It is absolutely safe to apply for a new visa. This does not have anything to do with your current PR application. Also it seems that you are on the last stage of your PR. So once you move to US update your application address so you can do the landing and PR card process accordingly.

If I were you though, I would apply for a BOWP since you have your AOR in hand, get that done and out of the way for your own peace of mind, you are eligible for it.

Agreed!

US visa is a independent process, so go for it.

Don't wait more to apply BOWP, most likely you'll be under Implied status for a while (after WP expires, waiting for BOWP approcal).

Under implied status you're NOT allowed to come back to Canada, except asome visitor (some conditions apply), or having in hand COPR.
