I am Computer Engineer and had 2 year of working experiance as an Network Engineer.
I haven't done any certification, Now i am plaining to move Canada and I need u people help that what certification will be helpful for me in Canada.

LITTLE DETAIL about my working Experiance.
Project Management:-
Fiber, Security cameras, Network Installations.
COnfiguration Of:-
Cisco (Switch, Routers, Ip Phones,ATA), D-Link Firewall,Access Points, and User trouble Shooting.

In my opinion, apart from experience, which is very valuable, the following are must have: ComptiA, Microsoft and Cisco.
(ComptiA is a must for America and North America, though not valued in the (UK) European Union)

Lol.. well I guess it's one SMALL detail I didn't know... I thought you were already in Canada, and that now you've gotten to be a manager :D

Walter,

So out of curiosity, any particular reason why you are wanting to leave the USA to go to Canada?

I'm not in the US, currently in Buenos Aires, in my home country of Argentina.

Still, sending you a resume anyway, you never know ;)

Thanks!

Walter,

It will not do me any good, if you are not in USA (Also IT is not what used to be here in USA). To answer your question.. Life style is the motivation for me and have family there.

cajoejoe,

Need to know something:
I have 8 years experience in Systems/Network Admin including 4 years as Manager, Systems, MCSE(2000), working for a good company. I am from India. What are my chances to get a DBA/Admin job in Canada after I land? Is there anything you may suggest I can do to boost my chances?

Regards

joy4u,

The reality is that there so many people in IT field (market is flooded). Although i have travelled and lived in Canada for short while specially in Ontario (North York).  Bear in mind I have been this field for a long time, to get back to story, the head hunters are bombarded by so many applicants from Canadian citizens out of job (well qualified), and USA. Bottom line, there are  many IT people in every block with resume' in hand.. I dont like to paint this canvas dark but that is the reality.  Personally, I have thought of getting out of IT completely and do something diffrent. Remember so many poeple have lost their jobs here in USA, and applying for high Tech Jobs over the border. I chose North York, Ontario for a place to live.. As i have heared and have not done any home work, Alberta is placing many IT folks.  Regardless, how many years of experience you might have, or what you have done.. if your thoughts are to be in Canada, and have a new life and work on totally diffrent job then you are ahead. But, if you are comfortable and have a good life in your home country then why one wants to leave? Anyhow, as mentioned my motivation is for life style and economy. So i hope i answered your question.  last piece of information for anyone wants to apply for a certain jobs read USA or Canadian financial News and labor market statistics.

I hope this been helpful
