Hello,

I will be sponsoring my wife who is in Europe and need advice. After reading a number of posts and case law I came to the conclusion, a critical success factor for having a positive outcome of a spousal sponsorship is presenting the timelines of the relationship and exhibits in a way that the VO is comfortable with.

I have an idea what to include in the "Story of the Relationship", however does anyone know or have a template of what would be an acceptable way to present the facts, what to include, how to collate exhibits, etc.

There might be a post regarding this topic. If this is the case, can you please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

There is no template, but I guess the only "rule" is to highlight those aspects of your relationship that brought you together and that keep you together. We'd only been together for 2 years by the time we applied so what I did is create headlines like 'Summer 2013', 'Winter 2014', etc. and explain what we did together at those times and why this was relevant to the development of the relationship. For every 'fact' I also included a reference to a piece of evidence, whether it was an email, a photo, or something else. For example, 'he came to visit me in ... and we travelled around for ... months (refer to page ... in envelope 3)'.

Thank you.

missrepresentation was right. the documentation that you'll be doing should be properly labeled so the VO wont be confused.. there's also no limit in presenting your relationship timeline, get all the photos you can get, email and etc. and also a cover page for each documents ,the cover letter. and most importantly make sure that the contents could prove that the relationship is genuine.. that's the main thing that they're looking for. :) good luck..

I have read case law where the VO was claiming the evidence was collected intentionally to satisfy the requirements. This is very odd. The onus is on the applicant to prove the case, yet VO can decide what evidence is applicable or not.

Has anyone ever considered undergoing a polygraph to have the case sealed proving there is no misrepresentation?
