It is not necessary to show funds as cash.U may show property docs but do not send copies of ur property docs as that does not make any sense.U need to get ur property evaluated by some standard organization and get it's net worth.That is wat CIC wants and not the docs.If u look at the proof of funds section of the website u will find all the details.?U may not show jewellery as funds.

Only 1 office, London will accept property evaluation as proof of funds, all the others follow the rule, that it has to be unencumbered funds.

Do CD's count as cash assests or unencumbered funds or does it have to be strictly savings acct.
 
I think CDs are fine. I used a 1-year CD as proof of funds and they accepted it. Of course, the CD expired before they completed the assessment.

Could some one explain me What a CD means? and some one pls help me to find it out if i deposit 9 laks INR approximately in 2 or 3 days in a single account is that going to create any problem for me in future?
I work in abroad and i want to show funds in indian account of my wife.
i am waiting to do it now so pls some one help me ASAP.
