National Identity Card to Apply for a Post Graduation Work Permit

Dear all;

I am an Iranian citizen applying for the postgraduation work permit inside Canada.

While filling the IMM-5710e form, I noticed a clause on my national identity card asking about its issue and expiry date. I noticed that my national identity card does not contain any information on the issue date; also, just recognized that the expiry date was on Oct. 2015.

I was wondering to know if I can apply using my BC-ID card, which is valid and all the required information is included.

The national identity card is not important or required. You can leave it blank if your previous one is expired. Do not use the BC ID card--it is NOT a national identity card.
