Hi everyone,
I'm planning to apply for a visitor visa for my parents and have a question regarding a name discrepancy between my father's passport and his other official documents.
On his Pakistani passport, the given name is "Bilal" and the surname is "Mohammad". However, on his national ID card and other official documents in Pakistan, his name appears as Mohammad Bilal.
In Pakistan, there's generally no strict distinction between given name and surname, so this difference isn't considered an issue locally. For example, on my mother's passport, the husband's name is also written as Mohammad Bilal. But I’m concerned that this mismatch might raise questions during the Canadian visitor visa application process.
If anyone has experienced something similar, I’d love to hear how you handled it. Did you provide any explanation or supporting documents? Was it an issue during the application?
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
