My wife and I just applied for spousal sponsorship but we have not received notification of reception from cic. I called and asked but was told it would take 5 weeks for that to happen.
The main problem is my birth certificate lists my name as SYLVESTER but in 2010, the Nigerian passport I got had my name spelled SYLVE"R"TER and I had to use that as my official name in canada.
Now in the question that asked if I had any other nickname or alias, I marked it as `no`. Thinking back on it I should have marked it as a yes but that`s a bit too late for that. My question right now is,
1) Can I send a LOE noterized affidavit explaining the discrepancy is one and the same?
2) Or should I fill the web form and apply to have my application withdrawn which apparently would take 5 weeks.
