Hi everyone,

Just read this post written by someone:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/november-2012-applicants-unite-t123516.0.html;msg2041410#msg2041410

And I checked IMM 5669 and lo and behold, it does say that we have to put "NONE" if questions 9, 10, 11 are not applicable.

And we put "N/A" for questions 9, 10, and 11 in my wife's IMM 5669, since she never held any government or military positions, and doesn't belong to any organization.

Our application reached CPC-Mississauga on 30 January 2013. My wife is Indonesian, and since we're doing it outland, our paperwork will eventually be transferred to the Singapore office.

We haven't even got our AOR yet.

I can't believe we did such a stupid mistake!!! I thought that we could just put N/A for things that are not applicable for us, arghhh!!

Chances are, our paperwork is still at Mississauga...should we redo IMM 5669 and send it to CPC-M ASAP?? We can quote our names, date of births and sponsorship type no??!

Or is it better to wait until the paperwork's been transferred to the Singapore office, and resend the redone IMM 5669, quoting the UCI number?

I REALLY really hope our whole application won't get returned to us! Would be a lot better if they simply allow us to redo the form in question! :/

At this stage, you don't need to do any thing now.

Perhaps this reaction to putting "NA" instead of "NONE" is VO specific. Now I had to go and look, lo and behold we also put "NA" in ALL those questions and yet had no difficulty with our application whatsoever.

NONE and N/A means the exact same thing. I really doubt you will get it sent back.

"NONE" would imply that the applicant had a CHOICE but OPTED to not do it. But "N/A" would imply that applicant might not be eligible or this section would never apply to them.

In this case i doubt they are going to ponder that deeply on the intent of the applicant and continue processing. I encountered this issue on the forums while applying for my PR 2 years ago. Never heard of a case where application was returned just for this error. Lets hope the same case applies :).
