MyCIC will email you.

Historically, it may or may not send the email. It's best to log in and check MyCIC every couple of days, at least. Don't rely on just email if you have got a MyCIC account going.

myCIC sends you an email when there is an update on your application such as..medical "not needed" to " passed" or background check "not started" to" in progress"
CIC never send an email to your myCIC,it always sends to your personal e-mail address.

that's my experience so far with myaccount and email.

to be on the safe side check everything :)

I've had a different experience. I've gotten most of my messages/communication through MyCIC. The only e-mails I received to my personal e-mail were the AOR1 and the automated e-mail to show that MyCIC was updated.

So yes, be on the safe side and check everything!

I use a representative and can't access MyCIC. I've never gotten an e-mail and have no clue where in the process I am.

I also did not get an email when my medical updated from Not Needed to passed. I only noticed my daily login.

If you are unable to use MyCIC due to a rep....use eCAS--this is more reliable than it used to be. It updated my medical before MyCIC did...and it's the only way to view sponsor info.

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do

To log in, use the application number or UCI number. If you log in with Sponsor details you'll see both info for Sponsor and Applicant. Applicant uci and info will only show Applicant.

Once Sponsor side shows Decision Made- that means they have sponsor approval.
Once Applicant side shows Decision Made - that means you have Decision Made and should be expecting a landing letter. (if you are Inland)
