My wife has completed 3 years and 2 months and we want to apply now for her citizenship. She has a valid PR card for another 4 years.

Do you think there is adequate cushion of time for her to apply for the citizenship ?

3 years are required but if you are sure about the exit and entry then 2 months are safe

Yes, 2 months over 3 years is very safe IMO. If you make a mistake in calculations now, you deserve to have your application returned :p.

Just to be clear, how much time has your wife spent outside of Canada in the last 5 years?

Thanks Smash and EUK.

She has spent less than 2 years outside of Canada in the immediately preceding 5 years. Thanks.

the requirements is not 3 years but 1095 days, there's subtle difference

Thanks Smash and EUK.

She has spent 2 years outside Canada in the last 5 years or 1 year and 10 months?

Can you break down exact number of days starting from the day you intend to sign your application and working backwards?

Thanks Smash and EUK.

If she is physically present in Canada for 1095 days in last 5 years then I don't see any issues..

Yes EUK, That's the point and that's what I wanted to convey. We have checked that she has spent more than 1095 days in Canada in the last 5 years and have kept a buffer of another about 60 days. Then it should be OK, I suppose.

1150 days is good enough
just remember covid-19 is getting all the process slower, so as soon she applies, as soon she becomes Canadian

Please apply as soon as you are ready...

Thanks to all..

However, we are yet to send in my wifes application for citizenship. Menahwile, she had to travel and is currently out of Canada. She is ready with all papers and has fulfilled all requirements also.

Can she apply from out of Canada ?(She can refer to the address of the condo in Canada that she owns.)

Should she state in her application that she is currently out of Canada ??

Thanks.
