Situation -- My Husband (Canadian PR) has just moved to Canada and looking for a job. I've read somewhere that job is not a necessary requirement for sponsoring.

Question 1 -- In this case, do we wait till he finds a job before sponsoring me for PR?

Question 2 -- Has anyone been in the situation before, i.e. sponsoring without job in Canada?

Question 3 -- Is proof funds sufficient as a replacement to job?

To sponsor a wife you do not need to have a minimum income.

You are fine.

He does not need to have a job but he can not be on welfare.

yes its ok if he is not working but No welfare

rrv, although no minimum income is req'd you will have to show how the 2 of you will support yourselves. If your sponsor has a place for you to live such as family or friends you should include a letter from them explaining they will provide for the 2 of you until such time as you can become financially independent. Concern for cic that you may have to rely on social assistanvce to survive
