Hi everyone, I'm trying to see help during this curious pandemic crisis that we are facing. I'm currently in Canada on a PGWP that will expires in four months, and I don't know what to do at the moment to continue living in Canada. I'm looking into way to extending or getting a work permit until I can find a way to do my IELTS test. However, I don't have any answers or idea of how to do so. Any advice would be appreciated thank you.

What was your plan before COVID-19 hit? Do you know approximately how many points you'll have under Express Entry once you complete IELTS?
What country are you from and how old are you? Any chance you qualify for a Working Holiday Visa?
Is your employer willing to obtain an approved LMIA so that you can switch to a closed work permit?
My plan before COV-19 Hit, after I acquired 2 years of work experience as Kitchen manager, was to do the IELTS test this year, then apply for Permanent Residence and Open Bridge work Permit. I honestly not sure how much points I would have after I do IELTS test. I was talking to immigration lawyer for advice, and he recommended that if I follow that path I should have enough points to apply for Permanent Residence. I'm for Jamaica and I'm 27 years old. I would to talk to my employer about LMIA this week to get an idea about that.
How many points you have is pretty important. What level of education do you have? Do you have a Masters degree? It can be quite difficult to get enough points to be selected through Express Entry.
Anyway - given IELTS is on hold, talking to your employer about an LMIA is the right move.
When I came to Canada, I did Post Graduate Diploma course for two years and work as Kitchen Manager for two years. I'm really not completely sure how much points I would have right now to selected through the Express entry.
I know that IELTS is being place on hold since they told me that my test date was changed to May 30th. I will definitely talk to my employer about LMIA and see what can be done.

You can easily check your points by using online CRS calculator. Put in your IELTS score whatever you think you can score.
You should be pretty competitive with your bonuses for canadian education and work experience.
