hello! i'm a US citizen and have been "visiting" my boyfriend in Canada to establish our common law relationship (12months). As of Dec 16th he is unable to continue working at his job due to his injury and we are feeling pretty helpless. I seem to remember reading that he wouldn't be able to sponsor me if he has ever gone on unemployment.. but i'm not sure. Can anyone clear this up for me? His injury is going to keep him out of work for 6-8 weeks and we aren't really sure what to do right now. ???
