Hi guys. First post here. Lovely and helpful forum. I'm in the process of getting my ECA at the moment and waiting for my IELTS results. I'm expecting a score of 430 if all goes well. Not that good but we'll hopefully the draws will go down soon.

My question is regarding NOC. I worked for 10 years for the same company, started as systems developer, then senior systems developer the head of IT section. Unfortunately I have no idea what NOC I belong to. I do more of software engineering and managing a software team but my title was developer which is programmer according to the NOC list, and couldn't find any head or lead positions.

Thanks and good luck to all.

Once your employer issues the work experience letter, send the roles and responsibilities from that letter to NC-NOC-CNP-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca and they will answer with most appropriate recommendations for which NOC to choose. You should still research it yourself and use your own judgement when making that decision.

It's unlikely you will receive an ITA with 430 points ever, so if you are unable to increase your points above 450, I strongly recommend you go for provincial nominations.

Thanks! But that was harsh :'(

I know but it's much better to hear the harsh truth than to live in false hope. So far in 14 months the Express Entry system has been active, there has not been a single draw with cut-off falling below 450 points.
