please i would like to know if it will be a problem for us my husband visited me twice in nigeria and we got married on his second visit and i have not visited him before we got married i wanted to visit him but i was refused visa, and i have not traveled with my passport it has no stamp on it is new.we are planning to apply for my PR by july.would it affect my application.

I dont think so, you will have to note in your application for PR that you got denied once..when you applied for a TRV...Sponsorship and PR approval are solely based on your ability to prove how genuine your relationship is...so as long as you provide valid proof you should be fine.

Good Luck.

I think you should be okay, though from what I know it is very likely you will be called for an interview. I do hope the office in Accra takes into account how expensive and difficult it is for a Canadian to visit Africa. Weeks to obtain a visit, and then $2500+ and up to 2 days each way for travel!

I would think it's a good sign that you did not get married on your first visit, by him coming a 2nd time to get married it will show development of the relationship.

Explain in your application how much you would have loved to visit with each other more, but what barriers you had (ie. finances, time off work, etc), and also of course that you tried to visit him in Canada but were unable to obtain the visa. Make sure you show as much proof as possible of your communication. Stop using phone cards, if you are now, so you have record of phone calls. Use Skype and copy the logs and take screen captures of both of you talking, email often and send postcards/letters. If you text, use the software that came with your phone to download all of your text messages and print them out. Get letters from friends and family on both sides saying they are supportive of the relationship.

Good luck!

You did what we all did and we applied stop worring cause the next 6+ months will be at lot harder.I went to Brazil married her on my first visit and i went back for our first anniversary but she did try for a visa and was refused also, now if you try and try and try for a visa and then all of a sudden got married?????? but you only tried once they expect this.
So calm down apply good luck and bless you.
