Hello everyone!

This is my first time writing on a forum like this and I thank you in advance for reading it. I hope someone can give me an advice.

My husband and I are planning to move to Canada next year with him having the “young professional visa” and with me applying for “spouse open work permit (SOWP)”. My husband is a French national and I am from the Philippines and We are currently living in Bangkok as we are expats. I have been trying to look for somebody else’s experience so we have an idea what the requirements are or if it’s even a possibility for me to get it. I am also checking for possible problems along the way as I have read somewhere that we will be needing to prove that we are to leave Canada upon the expiration of my husband’s visa? What kind of proofs can we present?

Can anybody share some details with us? I will be grateful to your answe

Depends on whether the YP job is classified as 0,A or B so above still stands that you would need to apply outside of the IEC/YP program with proof your spouse has a job classified as required. See section in the link titled not accompanied by dependents given dependents cannot be included in the IEC program but separately

As a Philipinnes passport holder believe your first challenge will be to get a TRV to travel to Canada if you do not already have one. Personal view but sometimes being expats is not always helpful in applying for anything given proving any home country ties can be problematic.
