My husband and I have been together for more than 5 years and married for almost 2. We have a child together who is almost 5 years old and ust started school this year.
We met online back in 2011 and a month after meeting we moved in together and we have been together ever since.
My husband was here on a work visa for year and during my pregnancy I got really sick and almost died and this is the reason he couldn't go back.
I was sick up until almost 3 months after our child was born and he was the only person I had helping me and taking care of me, the house and our baby. Together we have hundreds of pictures of all the places we have been together and also of our wedding, honeymoon, Christmas, birthdays, pics with my family and friends, and also with his grandma and aunt when they came over for the wedding. We also have cards of all the birthdays, Christmas, father, mother's day, etc we have received from friends and family, and sent to each other along with a wedding invitation card with our names on it we received when my cousin got married back in 2012. We also also sent in support letters from my only brother, my best friend, my mom and one of my cousins. Here is the thing.. About 3 months ago we received a call from CBSA and they told us that they wanted to meet with my husband at their local office. We went to the meeting and after all was said and done they told us that they were not going to take any action against my husband and that they were gonna give him the opportunity to get our application ready and send it in. 3 weeks later we sent our application and about 2 weeks ago we received the AOR from IRCC or CIC . Last week CBSA called us again and told my husband they wanted to meet with him. He went to the meeting and (according to my husband the CBSA officers were very friendly, and helpful.) The bottom line is that they gave him an exclusion order that excludes him from the country for a year, but since we have an application in my husband asked for a deferral of removal. They accepted it and told us that IRCC or CIC will review our application and if we are approved in principal then the exclusion order will be put on hold and we will wait until IRCC or CIC makes a final decision. They said that if we are approved then my husband becomes a permanent residence and stays in the country but if they refuse it he will have to leave and we can submit another application from his home country. I'd like to know if other people here have gone through something similar and how did it work out for you?

Thanks in advance..

I've heard of others being granted PR quickly due to an exclusion/removal order by CBSA. I hope in your case they approve it for you and he lands soon. Wishing you the best!! Hope others will provide some feedback for you.

Most Inland applicants benefit from the Administrative Deferral of Removal, as long as they were not deemed to be `Removal Ready' when the sponsorship application is received by CIC.

It sounds like the application was received about two months ago, but it usually takes a long time to reach AIP stage. CBSA can request that CIC process the application to reach AIP within 60 days, but CIC does NOT have to comply with the request.

Good luck!
