my first application for my extension of stay as a caregiver was denied along with my employer's LMIA. I am clueless, what is my next step? Please help...Can I re apply or can I change from caregiver to student? thanks

Is your original work permit still valid?

If so, you can work for your original employer until your work permit expires. You'll need to stop working as soon as the work permit expires. Before it expires, you should apply to convert your status to visitor so that you can legally stay in Canada.

If your original work permit has already expired, you are out of status in Canada and need to stop working immediately. You will need to apply to restore your status in Canada and change your status to visitor. Note that it may take four months for the restoration application to be processed (during which time you obviously cannot work).

Work Permit expired Dec. 21, 2016 but I applied for change conditions, extend my stay to remain in Canada before December 21.
MONDAY: My employer received a letter that she was denied of her LMIA
THURSDAY: I received notice that I am allowed to stay 2 months from now with Remark at the bottom of the paper is: TEMPORARY RESIDENT STATUS MAINTAINED. BRIDGE EXTENSION.

With your response, by restoring my status, I should change my status from work permit (foreign worker) to visitor? And can I look for an employer again while I am a visitor? Thank you and I appreciate it so much if you can educate mo more regarding this. Thanks
