hey guys

my parents divorces 20 years ago. i'm 27 and married. live outside canada.

my father came to canada and live there for 20 years now, so of course he got citizenship.

we are currently not on touch alot, last time we talked was about 3 years.

me and my wife wants to get the canadian passport, and maybe work there or in usa.

how can I get one? I deserve to get ?
please help me because I dont know where to start..

Given your father assumed his Canadian citizenship after you were born and you are now 27 therefore not considered a dependent, my understanding is that you would not be eligible to be sponsored by your father. You and your wife would need to immigrate to Canada on your own merits.

Yes,I was born before he got the canadian citizenship. if I dont want or need to be sponsored by him, I only need the passport so I can work in USA \ CANADA or maybe Australia.

So I deserve nothing? I need to do the "normal" way of immigrate?

As brucem said, you don't qualify for citizenship through your father. You will need to immigrate the "normal" way just like anyone else.

FYI - A Canadian passport only allows you to work in Canada. It does not allow you to work in the US or Australia.

I would suggest going to the CIC website to see whether you qualify under some of the alternative programmes.
