Hi All,
I have been in Montreal for almost 2 Months now and I want to share my experience with you so as everyone knows what he will face when coming in Canada. I was here in March and the weather was freezing ( average -20c) and you will spend the whole month(-/+) applying for health insurance, insurance number, bank account, driving lic.,...... life in Quebec is more expensive than USA in term of foods but accommodations is fairly priced. The job market in this state is the worst I ever seen and the economy is weak. So if you are leaving a good job in your country for Quebec think twice!!!! the health system is also not good, sometimes appointments may take up to 1 year! even for children. government Daycares for kids are few and you need to put your child in the waiting list for Months, otherwise you have to open your pocket and pay 30$ per day. Transportation in the city is well organized and you don t have to have a car.
My advice: try other provinces but don t lose you job for Quebec.
Goodluck
