I have received few personal queery about duties I have mentioned.

Here is the duties I have mentioned. I hope it will be helpful for those who applied for NOC 0213

• Provide expert advice on all matters related to computer network, communications and other related areas.
• Plan wide area network and communications strategy in conjunction with the IT/MIS Manager.
• Develop training plan and provide comprehensive on-the-job training in the areas of computer network and data communications
• Upgrade the existing computer network infrastructure including its existing Internet, LAN and email networks
• Design and implement network security system.
• Recommend software to be used for computer network.
• Survey branch offices to be computerized to ascertain the appropriate network and communications options
• Supervise and manage the operation of network unit
• Provide training on computer basic and best practices, email basic and best practices, computer network design and maintenance, email services design and maintenance and network security design, monitoring and maintenance

Following are expectations from CIO/ CHC for 0213. Your jobs should closely align to this, if not it will just look like a Network Administrator which is not part of 0213.


Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP) departments and companies

Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development

Meet with clients to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines

Assemble and manage teams of information systems personnel to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems

Control the budget and expenditures of the department, company or project

Recruit and supervise computer analysts, engineers, programmers, technicians and other personnel and oversee their professional development and training.[/font]

I was also confused when I applied, that is why I have posted my duties so that it may help the aplicant who is going to aply in category 0213

Congrats and thank you very much deepak, that helps a lot. I have also applied under 0213 and preparing my full app. Your post will be very helpful to me. I also have a similar work profile as yours.

Thanks for sharing your duties with us. So far all of us have been thinking that with out
Budget, hiring, appraisals, plan and direct dutied it may be impossible to convince the IO.
There are many people on forum struggling to find out an aswer and your posts helps all of us.

Yes ...well said Ankit.....few people who got rejection assumed that it was because of duties which didn't involve budget.....

Sounds more like technical but you made it and that is what matters.... I am sure you have other factors playing into your favor. Good luck with the job search now...
 
I agree with commonwealth, its a combination of factors that are involved rather than just descriptions. Deepak 1, did you have a job offer?

In any case the application processed very fast and us from buffalo still waiting since nov 08 :'(

No I do not have any job offer.

I just want suggest to all that do not be confused and be straight forward. I do not think CHC will do any favour as it is very sensative matter.Just follow the CHC instruction.
I was also very confused about my duties, I have written to forums,talked to consaltant/friends but I did not get any exact answer and made me more confused and I decided to aply and within 9 months I got visa.
I just suggest to follow CHC instruction. I faced some other prolblems lsuch as PCC,Passports etc.

I could not submit one of my PCC on stipulated time and wrote to CHC explaining why I could not submit the pcc but CHC has again request PCC in last moment and I sent it with Passport/medical.

And CHC requested me to submit all old passports but I have only 1 old passport other are lost or misplaced I do not know :) and submited only which I have without explanation and CHC did not querry about it.
