Hi folks,
I am the principal applocant and I am a housewife and do not work.
However, my husband works fulltime. Can I use his bank statement to file application to buffalo or should I transfer funds in my account make a bank statement and than send it to buffalo.

Please help.
Thanks

Any one of you, either/or both of yours - or of the children (if any) would be fine.

Thanks for the help Qorax,
Also, if you are aware do we need to send notarized photocopies to buffalo or just photocopies (not notarized)?

Since, I am a pre June applicant will the buffalo office ask me for further documents if required or they will make a decision on my file according ot the file I send them in one shot?

Thanks you .

It's wise to send the original bank statements. U can always obtain a fresh copy from your bank, can't u?

The VOs may or may not ask for any or many additional docs. It's their prerogative. If they have a concern they'll definitely ask u further supoorting docs.

The same is for post June 26 applicants as well. It's another matter that u send them incomplete docs - then it's their wish if they offer u another opportunity to submit the balance (or not) & take a decision based on whatever they have on your file.

Hey Qorax,

The photocopies I am asking about are the supporting documents.
Do I have to get all the supporting documents notarized when sending the application to buffalo?

Take the bank certificate and/or statements in original and send them...that's it.

If one can get both, it'd be better as the statement would show that the funds have not been thrown into the account
recently merely to clear off settlement fund criteria.

CIC guideline suggests Notarization. However, many don't & send just the xerox copies. I did that too... But that was passe - currently the situation is tough. It's wise to follow the CIC directives. Your call buddy!

I though the query is specifically for bank statement.

As I know, in the guidelines, it's clearly mentioned which doc. must come in original (e.g. IELTS exam) and which one to be notarized (e.g. birth certificates, job contracts etc.)

Then there are documents which are original by default and don't need to be notarized e.g a Bank Certificate to show settlement funds.
It's a proof, similar to proof of language proficiency and should be submitted in original.

Kindly correct me if I am wrong
