HELLO
Dear Shakshoka

Before birth every baby’s ASD is open and soon after birth it closes itself. But in some cases it doesn’t close. As baby grown up, that hole closed by the growth of heart muscles.
(I am not a doctor but I go through the same situation)
When ASD open there is murmur in heart beat. Medically ASD is not considered as a diseases, but if after the age of 3-4 years ASD is still open than it needs a minor surgery.
They will defiantly consider the future possibility of surgery but if ASD size is on decline, than you don’t need to worry.

Dear Shakshoka,

I have been onto this thread before few times but never left a post because honestly I did not know the answer but CUT has given an absolutely correct reply to your question.

I wish you all the best with your medical exams.

Good luck.

You will get medical papers to undergo medicals check ups.DMP ie designated doctors list is their in these instructions. After these check ups there is a strong possibility you will get another letter of medical examination i.e. after completion of first examination from chc.

Medical section from chc will issue this letter to visit the same doctor i.e. DMP to whom you had gone for initial medicals.

This DMP will refer you to visit a specialist doctor .Generally these specialists are in some leading hospitals in the same city.

Medical specialists sitting at the high commission generally are concerned that there should be no requirement of extra public expenditure (public funds) on the child after landing in Canada i.e. use of public fund.

Generally (7 cases I know) I have noticed that specialist who is in private hospital to whom you are being referred by DMP will "advise” surgery. Now everything depends on him if he clears Childs case then high commission will accept it but if he says that surgery is required then you have no choice but to go for it.

I don't know the answer to your question but it seems to have been well answered above. I am just writing to wish you luck.

Dear Shakshok,

Can you please update me on your medical status. I have same condition and I waiting for CHC reply.

Thanks.

Hi guys, can you please confirm what is the status or your pr process now? Did you passed the medical exam, I am in same situation where my son has ASD of 8mm but not on any medication and is well and quite active. wondering if this ASD will cause any delay or trouble to my case?

Please reply or whatsapp me at 07424526800.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would guess your child will need an echo and/or some other cardiac tests to ensure there are no further cardiac issues. Every child is different but if they expect the hole to close without surgical intervention and no other problems I don't think it should be an issue.

Thanks mate for your reply.

Yeah doctors have already performed echo (normal) and color doppler and they confirmed it's fit and fine.
But still digggdi this info if this has any adverse effect on my pr case.

Anticipate that you may be asked to perform the tests again but again I wouldn't anticipate this being an issue if they think the hole will close on it's own.
