Hi guys,

Before you respond, let me explain my situation in brief.

I had completed two post-grad diploma programs in Canada from Sep 2014-April 2016, I had to return to India owing to personal reasons in July and have been employed here since Aug 2016 ( I have around 5-6 years of work experience if that helps). I have a 3-year PGWP and a valid TRV. I have a few questions:

1. Can I travel back to Canada with the current TRV? What is the maximum period I can stay out of Canada with a valid TRV?

2. If I am applying for a PR through Express Entry from India, do I have to write IELTS again? I last wrote an IELTS - Academic three years back while applying for Canada, but should I take up an IELTS - General?

3. What other option can I pursue if I plan to return to Canada as a PR

I would really appreciate a response from you guys!

Thanks!

Academic IELTS is not accepted for immigration purposes. If you want to apply for PR, rewriting IELTS is mandatory.

You can only return and remain here within the validity period of your visa. If you enter here with the TRV, you must leave before or on the last validity date of your TRV.

2. If I am applying for a PR through Express Entry from India, do I have to write IELTS again? I last wrote an IELTS - Academic three years back while applying for Canada, but should I take up an IELTS - General? As stated by scylla, you can only apply for Canadian immigration with a valid IELTS General test certificate

3. What other option can I pursue if I plan to return to Canada as a PR Express Entry is your surest bet

I would really appreciate a response from you guys!

Thanks!
