Do I need to somehow register that I'm married now that im in canada and wanting to do the spousal sponsorship application? (I got married in Poland) Or do i just need to supply them with a translation of the original marriage certificate?

As usual, thanks!

You dont need to register your marriage in Canada. Canada accepts marriage certificates from abroad so long as it is officially translated into English or French if there is no English on the polish marriage certificate. So a photocopy of your marriage certificate and the original notarized translated document to go with it is accepted for CIC PR sponsorship.

Hello
I have a similar question,my husband sponsored me and next month I will come in Canada,so we are interested to know do we need to registrate our marriage in Canada ore our marriage from our home country is valid here?
I mean do we have a same rights like every Canadian merried couple?
My husband is Canadian citizen.
Thanks

Yes, you will have same rights as any married couples in Canada. Canada accepts marriage abroad so long as it is a legal marriage recognized in native country.
