Must I provide proof of funds of $16,967 if I support my family via internet?

If I can support my family of 3 through my freelance internet business, do I need to provide “proof of funds” of $16,967?

Dear Erik,

As per the rules, if you want to apply along with your family members (dependents), you have to prove that, that much amount is with you to support them for a short period while you are in Canada. Doesn't matter the business in which you are involved.
