Hi, i just want to ask. I'm a visitor here in Canada with multiple entry for 3 years. When i came here i was not given any permit on how long i will stay. But i was informed that i need to exit every 6 months . But my real question is , for example i exit after 6 months, can i able to comeback after a week to Canada again or there are any duration period before returning again. Thank you

there is no duration period for returning back to canada. you have a multiple visa so you can come back to canada anytime if you have genuine reasons to visit canada BUT to allow you enter into canada the immigration officer at the airport must be satisfied that you are a genuine visitor.
If you already had stayed for 6 months and you try to re-enter into canada after a week it will surely raise a Red flag and your intentions may be questioned and most likely the immigration officer may refuse you entry (if he is not satisfied that you are a genuine visitor seeking entry for a short period).
A multiple entry trv (visitor visa) is sort of a permission to travel to canada multiple times for a short durations. you cannot live for a longer time in canada just by exiting and re-entering thinking it will re-fresh your 6 months allowed stay each time, CBSA may consider it as an abuse of visa.
If you want to stay longer on a visit visa you have to apply for an extension to stay in canada as a visitor and this application should be submitted before your 6 months period expires.

hope it helps

Hi,

My daughter is 3 years old and currently with me and my wife (we are PR Holders) in one year multiple entry visit visa. She will be completing her first 6 months tenure in 10 more days. We all are having Indian passport and US multiple entry visa for 10 years. Is it possible if we want to go to USA through Montana boarder and come back in the same day to keep my daughters visit visa alive.

Please give a quick response only few days are left for me to decide.

Thanks in advance.
SRanjan

You would be better off applying for an extension and she would be on implied status until you get a response.

Thanks a lot for your quick response.
Hi
Will the visa extension take a long time???/

If the extension denied then is it possible for us to take her to USA and bring back.

The processing time is between 42 and 111 days depending on how you submit the form. You would have to explain the situation at the boarder because they will already know it. If the extension was denied i would think it is likely you will be denied at the board. But driving across and right back may also cause red flags. I think you are safer if you try to extend your visa.

Thanks a lot Davek for a quick response.

Is it possible I can apply for a visit visa extension now as only 5 more days there to complete six months, though the visit visa is valid till September 2015.

Hi Friends,

Thanks a lot for your guidance. I applied online extension of my daughter's visit visa and within 2 working days I got Visitor Record for a period of 2 years and with a Remark that "AUTHORISED TO ATTEND PRE-SCHOOL/PRIMARY/SECONDARY SCHOOL."

I think this is good enough till the date we receive the PR.

Thanks again for all your guidance.

Ranjan :) :) :) :)
