Hi everyone..i had a first time visit to Toronto last month .. I spent 10days vacation..then I came back to the PHILPPINES..and start planning an APPLICATION FOR OPEN WORK PERMIT..i self-assessed over their website and says I am ELIGIBLE.. I have been browsing for an answer what are MY CHANCES of getting approved ...I wasnt able to find any answers yet..please help me ..Ive got JUST the TRV until 2021..if my application for OPEN WORK PERMIT got denied..How would this affect my MULTIPLE ENTRY TRV?
What do guys suggest for me..Pls advise..Thanks in advance

I suspect you made an error when you did the self-assessment. People who have a TRP (Temporary Resident Permit) qualify for an open work permit. You have a TRV (Temporary Resident Visa). A TRV does not qualify you for an open work permit.

Hi I just realised that TRV is different from TRP..it says in eligibility check " a holder of Temporary Resident Permit more than 6mos." so mine is Canadian Visitor Visa (TRV)? is this right? So there is no way for me to legally work in Canada while im VISITING there? Im planning to work while visit for the next time that is why im wanting all to be clear to me..Pls let me have your final friendly word.. appreciated much.

Correct - as I mentioned above, you don't qualify for an OWP since you hold a TRV (not a TRP).

It is illegal to work in Canada as a visitor. So the answer to your question is no - there is no way for you to legally work in Canada while visiting.

If you wish to work in Canada, you have to obtain a work permit. To qualify for a work permit, you need to start by securing a job offer from an employer in Canada and that employer must obtain an approved LMIA.
