Hi so this is my situation. Myself and my wife have applied for PR with the express entry process. Currently we have applied status as my my work permit has ran out and we have applied for an open bridging permit. The problem is we have a baby due at the end of June and my wives Nova Scotia health card expires at the end of May. We have been told that a 4 month extension (already got) is all we can be given until we hear from PR or about our bridging work permit. Surely there is something we can do I'm at my wits end as can not afford to have the baby here of we have to pay for it. There must be some way to get a couple of more months onto her current health card while we wait for an answer. We have done everything we can do on our end it is the CICs reason we are waiting even with paying for express entry. Please please help me!

When did you apply for the BOWP?

I'd recommend you post to the Express Entry section of the forum to get a sense of how long it's taking these days to receive an approved BOWP. It's possible you may not be waiting much longer.
