Hi everyone,

I have submitted my CEC EE application which is currently processing. In the meantime my company is encouraging me to move to one of their US offices using an L1B (Inter-company) visa which they are willing to sponsor.

IF I do move to the US while my PR application is processing, apart from letting IRCC know about my change of address, do I need to let them know about anything else? Also will moving to US while my PR is processing have any adverse effects on the application itself and draw any red flags to my application?

Thanks

I wonder if they will issue COPR if you leave the country. Some people receive phone call or portal invitation to confirm they are in Canada before issuing COPR. (Does IRCC have entry record? What if you say you are in Canada when you are not?)

It’s up to the applicant to be truthful and not misrepresent their location. Some applicants even if they informed IRCC their change of address to outside Canada still receive COPR directly or an email asking them if they’re in Canada. The right way to do it is tell IRCC that you’re outside Canada, as they’ll ask you to return so they can issue your COPR.

Let me use this thread since I'm on the same boat. I'm outside of Canada as primary applicant and my spouse is inside Canada as dependent. Will they issue COPR (at least to my spouse) in this case?

@legalfalcon any input would be greatly appreciated:)

Only if your are exempt from travel restrictions. If you are not, then most likely your application would be on hold until the travel restrictions are eased.
