Hi everyone :)

I have a question that I'm not even sure how to Google and need help clarifying.

I'm a naturalised Canadian living in London for the last 6 years with my British husband. We're in the midst of applying for his spousal sponsorship from London and I understand that at this time it can take up to 9 months to process. However, we'd quite like to leave beforehand and as a British citizen I know he's able to come in and out of Canada every 6 months (we're aiming for Vancouver). My question is, is it possible for us to relocate to Vancouver while the application is pending or do we have to stay in the UK and wait for a decision? If we can leave, where should we have all our mail sent to as we plan on renting our home here?

Or would it be better and simpler to relocate to Vancouver and then start the spousal sponsorship application? We really just want to get going on it as soon as, but at the same time also don't want to be stuck here for any unnecessary amount of time.

Really appreciate any help given.

Hi

Apply now. You can come to Canada while the app processes and change your address with CIC once you are here.

I agree, apply now. Having proof you've applied for PR when you enter Canada will probably help with your husband getting in as a visitor as well.

Keep in mind that when talking to the border agent your husband must be clear that he is just visiting Canada; he is not moving here yet. If you have already applied for the PR visa when you arrive in Canada, bring proof of the application.
