Hello guys,
1. Any thoughts if an applicant moves to the neighbouring province for job, and application is still in process what could be the impact on timeline of citizenship application,
2. Are we required to update our address and work history, even if the job is camp based or temporary in nature?
3. What if applicant choose to keep his permanent address as is in original application , but moves to another province and obviously the reason is work.
4. Could anybody share his/her experience moving from Saskatchewan to Alberta, while citizenship application is in process, how much more time it took if hadn’t moved?

your kind response shall highly be appreciated.

Hi,

If you will be keeping your address in SK, I recommend not bother and update IRCC as it will take more time to transfer the file to an AB office. Just my thought.

You have to tell CIC about your new address. It's not optional!

Tell us right away if you change your address at any time after you submit your application, even if you arrange for mail forwarding.

  • Canada Post doesn’t forward parcels (An application package is a parcel).
  • If we return your application package to you at a forwarding address, you won’t get it and it will be sent back to us.
After you become a Canadian citizen, you don’t need to tell us if you change your address.

I know IRCC wants you to update them, but if you have access to the address you are moving from then I'd not bother. Anyway, he is moving temporarily just for work.

Thank you guys for response , yeah my biggest worry is , this job would be a camp based or temporary in nature at one spot and then moves to another, so I don’t see any reason giving every month a new address! Above all, I don’t want to have my application delayed any further that’s why wouldn’t venture any permanent address move. That being said, my application is a family one so just me moving, rest of the applicants are staying at old address; not sure how this plays out!

If it's only you, then do not bother and change the address. Anyways, IRCC communicated mainly via email.
