I was told that out of Mexico city I need to use a broker which is an added cost. I'm so nervous about my puppy being in a kennel for that long. The flight will be from Mexico city to Vancouver with a layover in Houston. The have a Pet Safe program with United Airlines. Has anyone had experience with this?

According to the website below, you only need to drop off your animal at least 3 hours before the flight:

Anyways, have you search other option such as bringing the animal by driving across to Canada via US?

I don't have the time, the guts or the car to do that by myself and my husband doesn't have his visa yet. Probably would be fun to do though

or could you drive to the states and fly to canada from there, so you don't have deal with the broker?

i had friends who moved from the states to south africa, and they had a dog. i assumed they used a broker. the dog had a handler, and even got to walk around amsterdam during a layover before flying to SA. the dog is more travelled than some humans! it was certainly pricey though.
