Moving from the US to Canada question

Hello, im new here and am hoping you guys can help me sort out some of the questions I have. My boyfriend lives in the US and I live in Canada. He wants to move here to Ontario to be with me. What application process must he go through? How hard is it to become a permanent resident of Canada? I see that if you are married I could sponsor him. I am on ODSP, would I still be able to sponsor him? Would his health issues get in the way of him coming? He has an ileostomy as well as epilepsy. Both are being managed well. I was on the Canadian immigration site, but was very confused. I would just like to know what application he or I need to fill out and how this whole process works. You can sponsor your spouse on ODSP.
You will have to be married as you have not lived together for one year to apply under common law status.
It is not hard for him to become a permanent resident if he is in a legitimate marriage and there are no red flags
for the immigration office.
It takes about 8 to 10 months once the application is filed when applying Outland and I would recommend that's the way you go.
You would need to fill out the application , and all the requirements after you are married.

So if the application gets approved would he then be a permanent resident of Canada? Would he ba able to work right away? Would he get his social insurance number right away?

He will become a permanent resident once his application is approved.
He will be able to work in Canada, and he can get his SIN number the day
he lands.

Actually...he will become a PR on the day that he lands as a PR.

Having an approved PR leads to receiving a CoPR document (for Outland applicants), which must be `activated' by CIC (if at a local office) or CBSA (POE) to then be a PR.
