I am a Canadian citizen who sponsored his wife under spousal permanent residency and we have received an open work permit for her. I have recently been given the opportunity to advance my career but I have to move from Alberta to BC. We can secure her a job immediately upon her moving however, we have heard rumours that it will take longer for her to receive her permanent residency if we advise the CIC that she will be moving to a different province. We currently own a house in Alberta, and can have our mail forwarded from there to an address in BC (thus allowing us to maintain an address in Calgary). Does anyone know if this type of move will affect our application for permanent residency? Thank you.
