Hello everyone!
I am a PR of Canada and I would like to sponsor my mother on her tourist visa application. I have question re my situation:

-I am a PR. However, I am still living and employed in my home country.

Given this, I would like to know if this will have a negative impact on my PR? or I can just proceed as usual with my mother's TRV application? If the latter, should I submit a copy of my PR card and employment documents from my home country? Or just a copy of my PR card and bank certificate will suffice already?

Thank you very much for your responses in advance!

You aren’t sponsoring her and given you don’t live in Canada, you cannot invite her to visit you. It has no impact on your PR. She applies and shows her own funds, travel history, ties to home country and reason to travel. You can include your PR and own funds but given you are not in Canada then IRCC doesn’t have to consider your funds. And if not a super-visa then your funds don’t need to be considered. You are employed in home country which has nothing to do with your mother‘s application.

Right. You are correct. Do you think it is a good idea that I write a letter to the visa officer saying that I will be covering the overall cost of her trip? I am thinking of including my bank certificate/statements on her application.

Thank you very much again for your response in advance.

Saying you will cover all expenses will raise a red flag, and you don’t even live in Canada. So your choice. You can include your bank statements but if not Canadian bank statements, IRCC may not even consider it. She needs to show her own funds that equal her length of visit.

Understood. Got your point. Actually, I became a PR just earlier this year. The reason I'm thinking of getting her a tourist visa is so she could join me when I fly again to Canada sometime soon. She will leave Canada in less than a month.

So have her apply and see what happens. Good luck.
