Dear All,

I got my bank statement for the last 6 months and bank certificate mentioning the amount of money held by me at the date of issuance of certificate (25,000CAD). The minimum amount I need to show CIC is 22,856 CAD as I have a family of Four.

My question is that can I go below 25,000CAD before I land in Canada? But not below the minimum amount of 22,855CAD. For example, can i go down till 24,000CAD?

Thanks

Yes, that's perfectly fine.

It doesn't matter how much money you stated that you'll bring, as long as you meet the required funds you're good to go.

I got my bank letter and bank statements dated july 20th. I was planning on submitting my application by the end of july. However it seems like i will need a couple more weeks and by then the bank letter will be close to a month old. Does that mean i need to get a new letter?

My bank reference letter was dated about mid march and I only submitted all my documents on 19 Apr. Didn't have any issue. :)

thanks for reply.. do they actually contact the bank to confirm?

Unless your bank is extremely sketchy they wouldn't disclose any personal information to another party.
