Hi,

My girlfriend has forgotten to fill in her place of birth and her siblings place of birth on the Family Information form needed to get into Canada, to study for a year in Vancouver. Her siblings are not travelling with her and her place of birth is on the passport photocopy that she sent with the other application forms. She has since emailed the visa office in London (we're UK based) to tell them of the mistake and attached the relevant documentation. She has a flight booked in for 26th August and it has been 7 weeks since the original application was sent off (with an 8-10 week processing time).

I just hope that some people on here could shed some light on the likelehood of this being sorted by the Canadian High Commision in London or what kind of attitude they are likely to take to the mistake...?

Thanks a lot.

*NB. I've moved this from the wrong forum.

They are pretty decent and fair at the London Office. When they thought I had made a mistake/omitted a very important document they e-mailed and wrote to me giving me the opportunity to rectify the situation within 15 days. They didn't send my whole application back and make me re-apply.

@B.C. How much time did it cost you because of this? :S

@sjwj1: Please let me know as well, if you find out something. I would also like to thank you because your post made me realize that I have also forgotten these details.

you cant change that you did , so wait and see hope for the best

You can

email them missing information using your

Passport number
Date of Birth
Courier Company receipt
Date of submission
etc etc

or wait so that they ask you............

Dear Bazinga07,

Luckily it didn't cost me any time because the document was in the file, but at the back. At the most it would have cost me 15 days. I had 15 days to submit the correct document. After that time my file would have been forwarded to the visa officer for the final review.

Have you checked your e-mail to see if they have tried to contact you? Have you contacted them about the error and sent the correct document to them? If you do it a.s.a.p they may add it to your file and it won't cost you much or any time.

Hi Guys, Thank you for your replies!

I had emailed them notifying the error I have made. They emailed me today asking the courier service, shipment number and date of submission etc. I have replied them. I think they will send me back my application package to correct the errors and this will cost additional days. I have already through 7 working days. Average processing time here is 21 working days. One of my concern is that when I send them back the courier, my processing day will be counted from the new date of submission.

I have to fly around the 14th next month inshaAllah after my visa is stamped, because I have to look for accommodation etc as I don't know anyone over there. Plus the tickets are double the price after the 14th.

What do you guys think?
