Can someone share info about which are the best shops / groceries stores in Mississauga to buy halal meat, chicken and other food items. I have learnt that although there are many who claim to be halal food provider but not all of them are certified by any monitoring authority. Is there any such system in place that halal meat, chicken, food etc are checked regularly and certified by certain authorities. Do such authorities check all the process thoroughly from source and certify the product only after strict monitoring ! Thanks

You just have to put your faith on the sticker on the package. You could also call up their head office and find out how the slaughtering is done. Alternatively if you want to be really ambitious and ultra religious you can buy the live chicken from the farm and slaughter it yourself in your washroom

wherever it is certified with halal Muslim association its ok. try avoiding ready processed products if u want to be cautious.
download an app on yr cell zabiha and it will show u all nearby halal stores near you.
you can find many in Mississauga. if u don't mind will u share your research why u selected specifically Mississauga and not GTA as your research will help me to make a decision.
regards

thnaks ummi for the info. I opted Mississauga cuz initially my family has to stay alone for almost six months, and you should be living in an area where someone knows you. I have few friends and families in surrounding of Mississauga (Brampton and Richmondhill). Second important factor is that Mississauga is a place of well mixed communities and one doesn't feel like a loner. And there is no doubt that it is a hub for Muslim communities and considered relatively safe compared to neighbouring areas. Hope it helps

Mississauga is part of the GTA.

Hi Hasni

i am planning to land in mid august this year In Sha Allah and will be leaving after 2 months but my family will stay there for another 4 months till i join them back. It would be great if you can PM you cell number and email so our wives can be in touch and this will also reduce some of my burden of leaving my family alone in new country.

Thank you
