I have finally received my notice to attend the oath ceremony, after a looong 38 month process. My letter states I must bring ALL original immigration docs - IMM 1000 or imm 5292 AND PR card. I can't locate my IMM5292 and im not sure what to do, what to expect. Should I apply for a copy and take the receipt with me ?? Any info will be much appreciated

I did call them prior to posting here. They were not helpful at all, for a change. She basically said i have to go either way and she doesn't know whats gonna happen. I was just hoping someone could have gone thru the same situation and could share how it turned out.

I am not sure.....file a police complaint about you lost the document and take that police complaint copy and show to the judge...I am not sure if this is correct but to me sounds correct..

The police will throw you out. Just because you lost a paper you cannot go to the police, it is not a criminal matter. File a complaint about yourself? hahahahaha

Its not a question of complain, but yes you should report it lost. IMM5292 is an important document that is not only used for citizenship, but will be needed when you retire and apply for pension. If you lost your passport, for example, you will report it lost to the police. Same thing applies here, in case there is identity theft using IMM5292

Thanks everyone for all the help.
My oath was today and it went well. Finally a Canadian citizen.
I explained to the agent what happened and showed him I had already applied to get a VOS and all he said was that I need that form for pension in the future. Police report is a MUST when one loses a TEMPORARY resident immigration doc such as temporary worker and so on ....

Would you please reviews your process on citizen ceremony events? What is your local office?

How long does it take?

Except for orignal PR Card and IMM5292, what elase do we need to show?

Do you need to show your passport too?
